Otto Warburg Medal goes to Prof. Nikolaus Pfanner

Nikolaus Pfanner, Professor of Biochemistry at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of the University of Freiburg will receive the medal in honor of his seminal discoveries of how proteins are transported across the mitochondrial membranes.  He is a worldwide leading cell biologist and has established important new concepts on cellular protein trafficking.
